19 Pendebat Terbaik Seluruh Cakerawala @SyedSaddiq Tuntut Nasi Lemak Dari Singapura, Ini Saja Tahap Ketua Armada PPBM

Jangan malukan kami Rakyat Malaysialah Syed Saddiq.

GEORGE TOWN: After the near forced eviction of Kampung Mutiara villagers, state Opposition Leader Datuk Jahara Hamid (pic) called for the state to address a ‘merciless loophole’ in the law.

She said folks in traditional villages in Penang ran the risk of being expelled without mercy or compensation.

“Landowners are not tied to conditions or guidelines. This loophole will create a chance to evict entire villages,” she said in a press conference yesterday.

She said Kampung Mutiara’s predicament was unique because the landowner wanted vacant possession without seeking planning permission.

“The state’s laws governing compensation to existing tenants on land where planning permission is being applied for cannot be used to compel the landowner.

“This loophole has given him legal powers to force the ground tenants to leave his land.”

Just as property buyers must adhere to many state guidelines, Jahara urged the state government to study the state’s bylaws on real estate to protect villages such as Kampung Mutiara.

On Monday, landowner Peter Loke again enforced a court order for vacant possession of 1.4ha, which he owns. The village sits on a 4.9ha plot with six lots separately owned by a few people.

Decades ago, Kampung Mutiara in Batu Ferringhi was a seaside village on state land.

Some of the villagers previously claimed their descendants were Kedahan warriors given the blessings of their sultan to retire in Batu Ferringhi before Penang island was ceded to Captain Francis Light and East India Company in 1786.

In the 1970s, the government sold the land to developers to build international resorts and the villagers were forced to move to their current site near the Batu Ferringhi police station, which was also state land.

This land, however, was sold to private companies and Loke eventually bought two lots in 1991 at a court auction. He has been trying to get vacant possession since 2007.

After Monday’s tense standoff, during which villagers barricading their access roads to stop court bailiffs from entering, Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail got Loke to withdraw after agreeing to compensate him RM50,000 for the delay and another RM50,000 as a refundable guarantee to buy the villagers three months’ grace period.

Ahmad announced that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had approved RM10mil to buy 2.1ha near the village for a mixed development project to resettle the residents.

Jahara urged the state government to top up the needed funds by using the state Bumiputera Housing Trust Fund.

“It can be used to help pay for the cost of relocating the villagers and buy up the affected lots,” she said.

She said the approved federal funds were insufficient and hoped the state could release RM20mil from the trust fund.

Minta kerajaan beli tanah tu habis cerita. Kerajaan kan banyak duit. Jadi apa salah tolong rakyat.

Bukankah rakyat didahulukan?

IPIC to 1MDB: You have 5 days

IPIC to 1MDB: You have 5 days
There is a second, separate payment due to IPIC that 1MDB has to pay at the end of this year.
KUALA LUMPUR: International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) has issued a statement to the London Stock Exchange (LSE) on 1Malaysia Development Fund's (1MDB) non-compliance in fulfilling its debt obligation.

IPIC said under the settlement of 1MDB’s debt obligation, there is a five business day ‘cure period’ for 1MDB to remedy their non-payment.

IPIC claimed that “failure to do so would mean that both MOF Inc. and 1MDB would be subjected to additional obligations to both IPIC and to Aabar Investments PJS (Aabar)”.

It is unclear however how much these ‘additional obligations’ would be.

IPIC confirmed that they have not received payments from 1MDB totaling US$603 million that was due to them from both 1MDB and Minister of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc).

The debt obligation was agreed upon at the London Court of International Arbitration on May 11 this year. The first tranche of the payment totaling some US$603 million was due on July 31, 2017 but 1MDB failed to meet the debt obligation in that said period of time.

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali is demanding Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar take relevant action against businessman Low Taek Jho, for the alleged wrongdoings he is said to have committed.

Azmin’s lawyer Latheefa Koya told reporters they sent a notice of demand to Khalid yesterday, demanding the top cop exercise his duties to issue a warrant of arrest on Low, whom Azmin has claimed committed wrongdoings under various criminal laws.

“It is the duty of the IGP to take action against Low under the Police Act and Federal Constitution as he is suspected of criminal wrongdoings,” Azmin said in the notice of demand.

Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, said if the IGP does not take any action by Aug 15, he will sue the police to compel them to take the necessary steps including seeking Interpol’s help to nab Low.

In November 2015, the home ministry, in a parliamentary reply to Kelana Jaya MP Wong Chen, said the government had been unsuccessful in locating those needed to facilitate investigations into 1MDB.

Low was one of the individuals needed for investigations, along with 1MDB’s former senior executives Casey Tang Keng Chee and Jasmine Loo Ai Swan, SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil, and Deutsche Bank country manager Yusof Annuar Yaacob

Salah Bayar Tidak Jenayah, Dua Kali Bayar Tugas Semua Rakyat Malaysia. Syabas Najib!

https://fast.bnm.gov.my/fastweb/public/mainpage.do.

Berbahagialah penyangak 1MDB.

Naib Presiden Parti Amanah Negara
